Preston Phillips
Preston was born in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to Orange County, California in 1989. Since then, he has lived in Southern, Northern, and Central California. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Chapman University in Orange, California, where he majored in Broadcast Journalism. Preston's news career began at KABC in Los Angeles in 2000, where he worked as an intern from the red carpet, reporting on entertainment related issues. He then assistant produced and reported at KTLA until 2002. In 2006, after a four year hiatus, during which Preston helped a family member recovery from life threatening injuries, due to a serious car accident, Preston took a job at KIEM in Eureka, California, where he anchored and produced the 6 and 11 o'clock newscasts, Monday through Friday and reported for the 5, 6 and 11 o'clock weekday broadcasts. In November of 2007, Preston joined the KSEE24 news team as a reporter and anchor. Most recently, Preston reported from inside Corcoran and Avenal State Prison, investigating Governor Schwarzenegger's proposal to release thousands of prisoners statewide. Preston is an active committee member for the California Brain Injury Association of California, as he spends much of his time volunteering with those who have sustained traumatic brain injuries. He also mentors transitional age youth in and out of state prisons and correctional facilities. Preston also holds a real estate license from the California Department of Real Estate.
