Companies You Count On



KSEE 24, Central Valley's News Station and the Companies You Count On are proud to support non-profit organizations in their fundraising efforts. Through out the year we sponsor and participate in a variety of community-oriented events.

January:
American Red Cross: Save-A-Family Campaign
KSEE 24 supports the American Red Cross with their Save-A-Family Campaign. Donations from the campaign help ensure that resources are available to support local relief efforts. Save-A-Family Campaign helps families who lost their home due to fire or flood. The American Red Cross provides food, clothing and shelter as well as other life supporting services to those victims.

February:
American Heart Association: Go Red for Women Luncheon and Fashion Show
Go Red for Women is a nationwide movement celebrating the energy and power we have to band together and wipe out heart disease, the No.1 killer of women. The Go Red for Women Luncheon, themes around sisterhood and inspiration, is a life-changing experience that focuses on three areas to support the fight against heart disease in women: heightening awareness of the issue, creating a passionate call to action, and rising funds to support education and research. The event will take place on February 27, 2009 at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center.

March:
American Red Cross: Heroes Breakfast
KSEE 24 and the American Red Cross invite you to the Real Hero Celebration will take place on March 26, 2009 at the Fresno Convention and Entertainment Center. The event honors good Samaritans for their courageous acts, throughout the Fresno and Madera community.

April:
March of Dimes: March for Babies
Join the walk to help save babies. KSEE 24 and the March of Dimes invite you to the March for Babies 2009. This year's events will be held as follows; Fresno at Woodward Park on April 18, 2009, Visalia at CIGNA on May 2, 2009, Hanford at Hanford West High School on May 9, 2009 and in Merced at Applegate Park on May 16, 2009. March for Babies helps fund research and educational community programs to educate the public on premature birth.

June:
Crime Stoppers: June Jam
Crime Stoppers mission is to prevent and reduce crime in the Valley. Join KSEE 24 and the Valley Crime Stoppers at June Jam, their annual fundraiser on June 6, 2009. Valley Crime Stoppers has formed a partnership among citizens, Fresno area law enforcement and the media to offer anonymity and cash rewards to anyone providing information leading to an arrest thereby making the community a safer place.

August:
North Fresno Rotary: Storyland & Jazz
Families and school children alike have enjoyed Storyland's stories and rides for many decades. Help keep the magic and fantasies of Storyland alive by joining KSEE 24 and the North Fresno Rotary at Storyland and Jazz Event.Storyland & Jazz will take place on August 22, 2009 at Roeding Park. September:
Boys & Girls Club: Stepping Out for Kids
KSEE 24 supports the Fresno's Boys & Girls Club Stepping Out for Kids dinner and auction fundraiser. Enjoy a night of entertainment and help your local Boys & Girls Club deliver exciting and educational programs to Valley youth. The clubs provide a safe and positive place for kids to grow, learn and play. Stepping Out for Kids will be taking place on September 26,2009 at the Scott Aircraft-Fresno Yosemite International Airport. For more information go to the Fresno’s Boys & Girls Club web site.

October:
Leukemia & Lymphoma: Light the Night
Help save lives with KSEE 24 and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Join us in the month of October for “Light the Night. “The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is one of the world's largest volunteer health organizations dedicated to funding cancer research, education and patient services. Friends, families and co-workers walk in memory of cancer patients and commemorate lives touched by cancer. The evening includes music, food and family activities. Light the Night will be taking place on October 3, 2009 at Fresno State. For more information go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society web site.

Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation: Race for the Cure
Race to find a cure for breast cancer. Join us on October 24, 2009 for “Race for the Cure.” The event includes a race, food booths, entertainment and special recognition of breast cancer survivors. Susan G. Komen gives opportunities for the Fresno community to help raise funds for breast cancer research, local education, screening and treatment. November:
Coats for Kids
Make a child's holiday warmer with Coats for Kids. KSEE 24, the Companies You Count On and KISS Country 93.7 FM will hold Coats for Kids, an annual coat drive for valley children, which has helped collect and distribute over 126,000 coats since 1989.

Portraits of Success:
In February, May, and September, KSEE 24 and the Companies You Count On will hold the Portraits of Success luncheon, recognizing outstanding leaders in the African-American, Hispanic, and Asian Pacific Islander American communities throughout the Central Valley.
