"The answer to our problem is 7,8....Any questions? Any questions before we move on?"

Julie Rodriguez always makes sure her students have all the right answers. She's been at Ayer Elementary for awhile now and is the kind of teacher you always remember. Her students say she's kind, warm, funny, and always there for them.

"This is my 13th year teaching 6th grade....I love them....My favorite is when they come back to see me....And when I get invitations to high school graduations....So that's wonderful."

"She's very understandable, she's very nice and she treats you like one of her family."

Miss Rodriguez has also started an important program at the school, creating forums where students can talk about bullying. It's opened up communication and made the kids accountable, to each other....And their teachers.

"In the end, we want them to know that it's not okay...That no one should ever feel that they can't come to school. So we want them to feel safe. And the thing I always say is, treat your peers the way you want to be treated. No one wants to feel uncomfortable or not wanted."

So, for all her devotion, tireless energy and support, we recognize Julie Rodriguez as KSEE24's Educator of the Week. And do you want to know how much her kids love her? Just listen to this!

Julie Rodriguez is also the lead teacher at Ayer. She says she still finds the time to help with her daughter's soccer team and other activities.
