"The least number....The greatest number."

Mary Kay Buck doesn't know the word 'stop,' but she does know how to get her students' attention.

"I always say, I just love to see the light bulb go on in their heads, cause that's what we're working for."

Ms. Buck has taught 2nd grade at Easterby elementary for 20 years. She often pays for her students' supplies herself, to make sure they get what they need. She always provides extra help to each student, to make sure they keep up. She loves every one of them, and it shows.

"It is really the greatest feeling that you could ever have. The whole idea behind teaching is making a difference in a child's life and when they achieve it, it's just a wonderful feeling."

"We would like to present your teacher, Mary Kay Buck, a check for $124!"

So give a hand to Mary Kay Buck, a true mentor, a friend, and KSEE 24's very first educator of the week.

Mary Kay Buck is a former fish biologist. She says she loves instilling a love of science in her students at an early age.
