The sounds of a band in harmony flow from Craig Corey's classroom at Valley Oak Middle School.
As a music teacher, Mr.Corey helps these students hone their skills and grow as performers.
"I'm a very fortunate teacher...Great kids on campus."
And it's those exceptional kids that make it that much more difficult to say goodbye when the school year ends.
"The bond between...I hate to see my 8th graders leave...Miss them a lot."
Mr. Corey has been teaching music and leading band here for the past 16 years now. Talk to his students and they'll tell you, his passion is pretty hard to ignore.
"I feel he loves music...I know I can learn a lot from him."
"No matter what we do we can try, if we lose he'll think of us as winners in his heart."
That unconditional support makes a strong connection...One that Mr. Corey has felt from the beginning.
"Its always been like a family here."
"I really do love them. I love the kids."
