As a fourth grade teacher at Mountain View Elementary, Dan Dritz comes to class ready to take on anything that comes his way.

"Whenever we have a challenge we work together as a team in the class together and find solutions that way."

Making learning fun is definitely part of the lesson plan in this classroom.

"We keep the humor up. But I think that also keeps them with me, and learning more by doing that."

Mr. Dritz's educational background dates back some 15 years. He started out as a Special Education teacher, helping kids of all ages.

"He's just a nice teacher, and he's always there for us when we need him."

And she's not the only one who feels that way.

"I think that he's there for you and will never not be on your side."

"I try to motivate them everyday and push them to the next step. It's a process. It's a great process when we get there."

These kids, and this school, mean a great deal to Mr. Dritz.

"It's more than a job, it's like leaving your family at home, and coming to your next family here. I always tell the kids in my room, we're sort of a family here because we spend more waking hours together during the school day than you do with your family at home. Everyone in our room is sort of your brother and sister in here too, so we always try to treat each other that way."

Congratulations to Dan Dritz, KSEE24's Educator of the Week.
