If you think learning a new language is hard, try teaching it to a room full of high schoolers.

"She's very patient with us."

Gao Her, or Madame Her as her students say. Teaches French at Edison High. She learned the language growing up in France as a Hmong refugee. After she immigrated to the U.S. she started her career in education, and has been helping students expand their communication skills for 15 years now.

"Teaching a language is like a parent teaching first word to kids."

Her's devotion to helping students master a language doesn't end when class is over. She spends a lot of her extra time with the french and Hmong clubs.

"Around Fresno we don't have too many...To be more open minded."

That dedication to broadening her students minds...Has earned her quite a reputation.

"I don't see her as a teacher, I see her as a friend."

"She should be the teacher of the year...Shes amazing."

"I love them, they are the creme de la creme."

Congratulations to Gao Her, our KSEE24 Educator of the Week.
