Even though the school year is almost over, there's still plenty to learn in Lauren Jacquez’ class. Here at Edison High, she helps her students open their so-called "geography eyes."
"Geography is really important...That's what's important."
To ensure her students do the best they can, Mrs. Jacquez tries to make herself as available as possible. She has a website, and a special Facebook page, and even gives out her phone number.
"I'd rather have them do that...And the problem is solved."
Mrs. Jacquez's dedication definitely doesn't go unnoticed, or unappreciated. Her students say she stands out, in the very best way.
"She makes it fun...In that class."
"She's not just a teacher...Help you along the way."
Mrs. Jacquez influence and inspiration go well beyond the classroom. In addition to being a breast cancer survivor, she also coaches the cross country team, and organizers a long list of volunteer activities around town with her student service group.
"These are like my kids...Not gonna stop now."
