Update: Democrat Arambula Says Latinos Need Jobs and Swearegin Mayorship is the Answer

By Jon Brent

Many Latino Democrats are asking: What was Juan Arambula thinking...endorsing Ashley Swearengin for Mayor?
The Mayorship is supposed to be a non-partisan race, but local Latino Democrats say this endorsement will have repercussions...
whether Democratic opponent Henry T. Perea wins or loses.
And Juan Arambula? He says he knows Ashley Swearengin and Henry T. Is no Ashley. Jon Brent has the story...

read between the lines. arambula has worked with both and his experience is that one person is more effective that the other. if the formula for good leadership was being latino than mexico would be in great conditions and locally all the latino run cities would be just as good. Fresno needs good leadership period! perea does not fit that high standard that is why repected latinos won't endorse him. As a latino i expect more from my elected officials and that includes independance and ability.

I like Arambula...he is a good guy who wants the best for Fresno. I am glad that he is backing who he thinks is best instead of just playing party politics.

Juan is a brave and courageous leader and has always done what is right for his constituents. Crossing lines to do what is right is what great leaders do. It isn't about race or parties it is about doing what is best for all of us. You have to respect his endorsement of Swearengin. He risks a lot in making this choice. He could have remained neutral and not endorsed anyone but he must feel strongly about this choice.
