"Friends" Boost Mayoral Campaigns

By KSEE News

With just 12 days until the election, Fresno’s mayoral candidates are getting a little help from their friends.

Thursday, Henry T. Perea received an important endorsement from California’s senior Senator, Democrat Dianne Feinstein.

Feinstein issued a statement of support saying "Henry T. Perea is focused on tackling the issues affecting Fresno residents most - public safety, jobs and air quality."

Since Monday, Ashley Swearengin has been getting a boost from a television ad featuring the endorsements of two of the Valley’s most recognizable leaders, Republican Assembly Leader Mike Villines and Democrat Assembly Member Juan Arambula.

So, what do endorsements mean for the race?
This time around, they could be significant.

With a tight race and both candidates admitting their goals for Fresno are similar, it could come down to whose friends can get the most voters to the polls on November 4th.

Does it really matter? No amount of talk or promises will override what is taking place in Fresno, CA http://fresnofriantdam.blogspot.com/2008/10/autryswieso-suspected-homicide-behind.html
