When we were children and we lost a tooth we would look forward to putting that tooth underneath our pillow and waking up to find the tooth fairy left us some money. Well, the tooth fairy is still collecting teeth. Camarena Health is now teaming up with the staff for a children dental outreach program.
Mary Noriega and Lorena Deleon, a dental outreach specialist is the tooth fairy. Eric Iinville, the director of community development over at Camarena also teaming up with First 5 Madera County to launch the "Children Dental Outreach" program. Their goal is to provide screenings to over 900 children and will be visiting over 19 schools throughout Madera County. Their goal is to stop problems before they get out of hand.

Camarena Health is a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center which focuses on the primary health care needs of the diverse communities of Madera County. They’re currently served over 21,000 patients annually and are working toward increasing that number in several areas. Camarena Health practices an integrated health model which includes services in health education, chronic illness management, and dental care. This model empowers the patient to take charge of their wellbeing through a combination of good nutrition, healthy practices and modern medicine. Camarena was established in 1980 and has been serving the communities of Madera County for over 30 years. In 2002 Camarena Health developed a technology rich infrastructure and implemented the Electronic Medical Records program. This ground-breaking use of technology is already redefining and increasing the quality of health care delivered to patients, and positively impacting chronic disease outcomes. The early investment in technology has positioned Camarena Health to take advantage of time saving activities. This has allowed for expansion to take place both quickly and efficiently. As the medical needs of Madera County continue to grow, our commitment to serving those needs grows as well. They are honored to serve the many members of our communities and will remain focused on their mission to provide the highest quality healthcare to the communities we are privileged to serve, in a caring and compassionate manner.
