The FDA is advising consumers not to take unapproved flu medications sold online. Regulators have sent warning letters to ten online retailers that are selling so-called generic Tamiflu, which is not FDA approved.
The companies have also been told to remove false claims stating their products are the most effective alternative to the flu shot. Experts say products sold on the web could be too strong, not strong enough, or contain the wrong drug.
