They are questions anyone with an elderly parent. Will soon come to ask, how much does long-term care cost and can I afford it? Barry Byers from the Harvest at Fowler which is an assisted living facility provided us with a chart that compares costs of nursing homes, assisted living communities, home care & adult day services. He said assisted living communities are pretty reasonable.

Metropolitan Life Insurance Company ("Met Life") publishes an annual “Survey of Long Term Care Costs" comprising statistics from all over the U.S.

a) Nursing Homes - semi-private rooms and private rooms

b) Assisted Living Communities

c) Home Care - Home "Health" care and "Homemaker" care.

d) Adult Day Services (out-of-home day care)
