Patients in need of medical marijuana may soon be able to slap on a patch. Maggie wade shows us the breakthrough that's been developed over at the University of Mississippi. Dr. Mahmoud Elsohly is a faculty member in the school of pharmacy at Ole Miss.

He has been working for nearly seven years to find alternative ways to use THC, the main psychoactive ingredient in Marijuana. Over 77 thousand samples were prepared for analysis on this project. And though you see us walking around freely Dr. Elsohly reminds us we are under constant surveillance by the DEA.

Some of the areas are so sensitive we had to wear protective gear.
