Mediterranean Diet Helps Prevent Heart Disease

There's proof that the Mediterranean diet can help prevent heart disease. Spanish researchers tracked more than seven-thousand adults, who were at risk for heart attacks, or stroke.

Those who followed a Mediterranean diet, along with extra virgin olive oil, or mixed nuts were 30 percent less likely to develop heart disease. That's even more effective than many medications, like statins, which also raise the risk of diabetes.
