New Treatment for Increasing Childhood Obesity

The increase in childhood obesity has contributed to a rise in type-two diabetes, among kids, and for the first time the American academy of pediatrics has developed a set of guidelines to treat the disease in this young population.

Experts say children who have such low blood sugar that it can't be determined whether they have type-one, or type-two diabetes should be put on insulin therapy.
Everyone else should be treated with the popular diabetes drug "metformin" and speak with experts about changes they can make to their diet and exercise routine.
