Fresno Buddhist Temple Hosts Annual Ginza Food Bazaar
Fresno, CA, October 30, 2010 — The Fresno Betsuin Buddhist Temple is hosting their annual Ginza Food Bazaar on Saturday, October 30th, from 12 noon until 7:00pm at the new Family Dharma Center, 2720 E. Alluvial, Clovis, Ca 93611.
The annual food bazaar is a fund raising benefit event to help the Fresno Betsuin Buddhist Temple build and relocate to their new location. This will be the first one held at the new Dharma Center.
Along with traditional Japanese dishes, Sushi, Chow Mein, Teriyaki Chicken, Barbecue Ribs, Teriyaki Beef Sticks, Tempura Shrimp/Vegetables, Curry Rice, Teriyaki Hamburgers, Shaved Ice, and Gyoza, the bazaar will offer Barasushi, special vinegar rice that is part of the box lunch. Manju and Anpan are very popular desserts or better described as pastries. New will be Katsu Dogs and Teri Mayo.
Entertainment will start at 12:30pm, and feature a Taiko Drum Group, along with Kendo, or "way of the sword", the martial art of Japanese fencing. Kendo developed from traditional techniques of Japanese swordsmanship. Cultural events such as Caligraphy, Tea Ceremony, and Obon dancing plus Ikebana and bonsai displays will be featured.
A special raffle drawing will be held for $1,000.00, $500.00 and $250.00 prizes.
