The Santa Rosa Rancheria Tachi-Yokut Tribe will be hosting the 18th Annual State Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) Conference during June of 2011 (27-29, 2011) at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, California. This is a grand event, with several wonderful workshops, which include: Tribal Customary Adoption, MSW and BASW Title IV-E Programs and the American Indian Grant, Expert Witness Qualifications in ICWA Related Cases, Linking Resilience to Native American Youth Suicide Prevention, Active vs. Reasonable Efforts in ICWA Cases, Transferring Cases to Tribal Court: Creating a Protocol with Social Services, Anger Management in Tribal Youth, Minors Attorney & Parental Attorneys in ICWA Cases, Inquiry for Delinquency and Dependency: Setting the Stage for ICWA Compliance in Every Case, ICWA & the ADA: Challenges at the intersection of Native and Disability Issues in Child Welfare, Tribal ICWA Advocates Panel, Historical Trauma; Cause—Effect—Recognitions of—Healing, and also a Healing Session. In addition, we have several amazing presenters and speakers for this event, which include: Gordon Bussel, Ella Callow, Honorable Christine Williams, Ann Gilmour J.D., David Meyers, J.D., Kimberly Cluff, J.D., Frankie Williams, Percy Tejada, Vida Castaneda, MSW, Teresa D. LaFromboise, PhD., Loletta Garfield MSW, Rachelle P. Goldenberg, MSW, Corinne L. Florez, MSW, Dr. Jane Middleton, Cheryl Whittle, MSW, Thomas Phillips, MSW, and Liz Elgin DeRouen. Lunch and lunchtime entertainment will be provided by the Santa Rosa Rancheria Tachi-Yokut Tribe for all three Conference days.
