Exeter will celebrate its traditional Fourth of July on Monday, July 4th in the Exeter City Park. The day-long program begins at 7 a.m. with the Pancake Breakfast under the arbor and Parks & Rec. will feature the 2 mile walk and the 10k run. Special this year, Exeter Parks & Recreation will feature the Exeter Centennial 4th of July Parade ~Kids and Grandtiques~ with the theme “Past and Present of Exeter” will begin on Pine St. at 10 a.m. The traditional Horseshoe Tournament will begin at 8 a.m. There will be special features for kids this year, namely face painting, mini train rides and archery. Booths of local artists and crafters as well as food booths will open at 9:00 a.m. Entertainment will be ushered in after the “colors” are presented. Live Local entertainment will be happening all day long. Tricia Kirksey Real Estate, Hometown Emporium, City of Exeter and the Exeter Chamber of Commerce sponsor this year’s event in the park. The Exeter City Park is located on Chestnut & E Streets.
The traditional free fireworks will be showing at dusk at Lions Stadium; donations will be accepted after the show and no ice chests please. Visit www.exeterchamber.com for more information or call 559-2919.
