De Young Properties is pleased to announce that HGTV will bring their new prime-time series “Showhouse Showdown” to De Young’s Ashley Pointe Community in Clovis this July. Local HGTV fans will have a chance to participate in the filming of this new series, which will premier later this summer on HGTV.
“Showhouse Showdown” is a competition between two professional interior designers who receive identical budgets and the chance to create a winning interior design for two newly built homes. In Fresno, the designers will combine custom ideas with features and amenities from the De Young Design Center and furnishings from Mor Furniture to create an interior that represents their unique design style. The winning designer will be decided at an Open House, held Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., when the public will be invited to tour both new homes, located at 2109 Buckingham Avenue and 2117 Buckingham Avenue in Clovis, and vote on the winner.
Only the first 300 people will be allowed to tour the completed homes and the first 100 people on site will be given a scorecard to vote on which of the designer’s rooms they prefer and which home they would buy. Some attendees will also be asked to give their opinions on camera as they tour the homes, so all participants must be willing to sign a release to appear in the show. Producers encourage people of all ages to attend this free event, but a consenting adult must accompany children under the age of 18. Interested participants are requested not to arrive to the site prior to 9:00 a.m.
