Third Annual Toys for Tots and Gifts For Seniors Event

Advanced Career Institute has once again collaborated with the National Guard, AARP, and the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program for our third annual community service event for the holidays. The event will be held at the A&W located at 2611 S. Mooney Blvd. Visalia Ca. on Friday 12-9-2011 and Saturday 12-10-11 between the hours of 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM both days.

We are collecting new unwrapped toys for children. In addition, we will be collecting basic need gifts for less fortunate senior citizens. We are requesting items such as new blankets, slippers, socks, basic need items, etc. which will be distributed this holiday season.

All gifts collected will be distributed in our local area only and not sent to other areas. All individuals requesting gifts or know of a child or senior citizen in need can call (559) 651-1978 for more information.

From the US Census Bureau:
30.7% of children between the ages of 5 years of age and 17 years of age live at or below poverty level in Tulare County.
21% of children between the ages of 5 years of age and 17 years of age live at or below poverty level in Visalia Ca.

12.6% of those 65 and older living in Tulare County are at or below poverty level.
9.7% of those 65 and older living in Visalia Ca. are at or below poverty level.
