MEN IN HEELS!!
Here at Community Action Partnership of Madera County, a non-profit organization, we are coming up on our 5th annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event.
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is an event that takes a light-hearted approach to the very serious subject of sexual assault and builds
awareness of its impact on our community. This fundraising event is to raise money for the victims who have been sexually assaulted. All proceeds willcover expenses for aftercare treatment that would help them recover from trauma such as empowerment camp,
art therapy, and individual counseling. This event is abundant with opportunities to get people talking. For preventive education,
it helps men better understand and appreciate women’s experiences, thus changing perspectives, helping improve gender relationships
and decreasing the potential for violence. For healing, it informs the community that services are available for recovery. It demonstrates that men are willing and able to be courageous partners with women in making the world a safer place.
Our goal is to reach as many people as possible, to participate, donate, and spread the word.
Our event will take place Friday, April 20th.
Located at 210 West Yosemite at Madera Historic Courthouse park.
Registration opens at 5:00PM
Opening ceremony at 6:00PM.
This event is open to the community and we encourage families to come out and join us in an effort by putting your foot down and help end Sexual Assault.
