Exhibition: Baskets & Gourds: Containers of Our Culture 2012
Location: Arts Visalia, 214 East Oak Avenue, Visalia, CA 93291
Dates: April 4 – April 27, 2012
Opening Reception: Friday, April 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Throughout the month of April, an exhibition of gourd and fiber arts will be on display at Arts Visalia Visual Art Center. Titled Baskets & Gourds: Containers of Our Culture 2012, the exhibition is being held in coordination with the conference of the same name to be held on the weekend of April 16th through 18th at the Visalia Elks Lodge. Showcasing artworks of both utilitarian purpose and decorative beauty, this exhibition will feature contemporary interpretations of the traditional gourd and basket arts by over twenty nationally recognized master craftsmen.
The exhibition will be on display at Arts Visalia from April 4th through April 27th, 2012. An opening reception will be held on Friday, April 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Admission is free and open to the public.
Arts Visalia is located at 214 East Oak Avenue in downtown Visalia. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday from Noon to 5:30pm. For more information call (559) 739-0905 or visit www.artsvisalia.org.
