Leadership Northern Tulare County and the City of Dinuba proudly present the return of the Cinco de Mayo Festival, to be held Thursday, May 3rd through Saturday May 5th at Dinuba’s Rose Ann Vuich Park. The annual event features performances from live bands, a carnival, craft fair, and plenty of great food!

“Cinco de Mayo” is an event originally observed in Mexico celebrating the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. Cinco de Mayo is observed in the United States as a celebration of Mexican culture and diversity. May 5, 2012 marks the 150th celebration of this event.

The Dinuba Cinco de Mayo Festival will feature plenty of activities for the entire family! The festival will include performances from bands, including Balazzo and Califas. Carnival rides, a craft fair and delicious food from local non-profit groups will also be on hand. A Cinco de Mayo parade will be held May 5th at 10am in Downtown Dinuba.

Mega 97.9 will be broadcasting live on May 5th and will be giving out prizes. Carnival tickets can be purchased from the Leadership Northern Tulare County booth, located at the Rabobank, 130 E. Tulare St, Dinuba. Major sponsors for the event include Ruiz Foods, Peña’s Disposal, State Farm Insurance, and Dinuba FireMed.

The all age’s event starts at 5pm on Thursday May 3rd. Admission is free. For more information call Cristobal Carrillo at (559) 591-5924, ext. 104, or e-mail ccarrillo@dinuba.ca.gov.
