Event Description

June 1, 2012 Updated Jun 1, 2012 at 2:11 PM PDT

This nation-wide United Way event encourages communities to LIVE UNITED through the spirit of volunteerism. Local businesses and individual volunteers are connected with nonprofit agencies to work on a much needed project. Such projects include beautification projects, feeding the needy, trail and river cleanups, interacting with youth, making blankets for children in hospitals and so much more!

The day will start off with a free kickoff breakfast to all volunteers, complete with motivational speeches and goody bags. Afterwards, volunteers will be sent off to their various project sites to begin their day of giving back.

It is our hope that volunteers will be able to learn more about the nonprofit agency they are working with and in turn, a positive relationship between the agency and volunteer will be formed. After all, volunteering is not just a job – but a selfless act that impacts the hearts of many!

Volunteers MUST be pre-registered prior to event date in order to participate. For more information, please contact Melissa Tav at 243-3663 or mtav@unitedwayfresno.org.
