Event Description
On August 7, 2012, the Sanger Police and Fire Department will be hosting the annual National Night Out event which is being held throughout the country on that day.
The police and fire departments will be holding the event at Sanger City Park (477 Academy Ave.) that evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This event will be designed to heighten crime/public safety awareness, drug prevention awareness, strengthen neighborhood spirit, garner police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals that our community is organized and willing to fight back.
The police and fire departments will be sponsoring several youth-related events, home security and safety booths, crime prevention, water safety and various other public safety booths, demonstrations and interactive activities. We are hoping to gather a vast majority of our citizens, stand together and send the message that we will no longer allow crime and our community’s safety to be compromised.
During this event, there will be food booths, free giveaways, free school supplies and a free raffle for participants and our City’s youth. Community members of all ages will also have a chance to dunk one of the City’s police officers or fireman to win raffle tickets. One can of food is being asked as a donation for this opportunity. The donated food will be provided to HOPE Sanger to disperse to Sanger citizens in need.
