California Opera’s Summer Festival stops in Seville on Sunday, August 12, at 2 PM for the Mainstage Performance of the fully staged opera "Carmen" by Georges Bizet at the Mercedes Edwards Theatre in Clovis (902 5th Street at Clovis Ave.). The most popular opera of all time and the enduring symbol of the exotiziced romantic construction of Spain, the fully staged opera is presented in French. These Free Festival Events, in order to promote a greater interest in, exposure to, and attendance of opera in Fresno are made possible, in part, by Kaye Bonner Cummings of the BONNER FAMILY FOUNDATION, the EECU of Fresno, and the J. Frederich Schlotthauer Memorial Education Fund. For detailed program information, please visit www.calopera.org or call 225-6737 (CAL-OPERA).
