Cal Opera Festival audiences go to Greece, on August 10, Friday at 7 PM, for the contemporary, west coast premiere of the one act opera “Ocean Dream” by modern day composer, Victor Kioulaphides. Presented in the Fresno Art Museum, Bonner Auditorium, featuring Greek Soprano Ioanna Sfekas-Karvelas from Lesvos coupled with Armenian Sorpano Zaroohi “ZZ” Nixon, the New York Times described the music as "accessible and lush… nimble and clever." These Free Festival Events, in order to promote a greater interest in, exposure to, and attendance of opera in Fresno are made possible, in part, by Kaye Bonner Cummings of the BONNER FAMILY FOUNDATION, the EECU of Fresno, and the J. Frederich Schlotthauer Memorial Education Fund. For detailed program information, please visit www.calopera.org or call 225-6737 (CAL-OPERA).
