AUDITIONS for Honk, Jr

Musical Production For Ages 5-10 (all who register will be cast), and 10-17 (by audition only).
Kids and teens will perform together.

A contemporary retelling of Hans Christian Andersen's The Ugly Duckling with a "Joseph... Dreamcoat"-esque score that everyone will enjoy.

Audition Requirements for Teens: Students must be 10-17 years old, and must have participated in at least 5 musical productions at California Arts Academy or a similar program elsewhere. Younger students may be invited to audition by the Director. Not everyone who auditions will be cast in this show.

How to Audition (For Teens): Students must come prepared to sing 1 minute of a song in the style of the show by themselves. Please bring an accompaniment CD (without vocals) or sheet music in the appropriate key. Clothing appropriate for dancing and jazz shoes are rquired for the dance audition. Students will be asked to read scenes that will be handed out at the audition.

Audition Date for Teens: Saturday, August 25, 2012, 12:00-5:00pm.

Rehearsals for Teens: Saturdays, 12:00-5:00pm, September 8, 15, 22, 29, October 13, 20, November 3, 10, 17.
Tech Week Rehearsals for Teens: Monday - Thursday, 5:00-9:00pm, November 26 - 29.

How to Audition (For Kids): During the first few rehearsals, students will be asked to sing in a group, learn a short dance combination, and read scenes from the show. All students who register for this show will be cast in a part or in the ensemble.

Audition Dates for Kids: Friday, August 24, 2012, 4:00-6:00pm.
  Saturday, August 25, 2012, 9:00am-12:00pm.

Rehearsals for Kids: Fridays, 4:00-6:00pm, and Saturdays, 9:00am-12:00pm, September 7-8, 14-15, 21-22, 28-29, October 12-13, 19-20, November 3, 10, 17.
Tech Week Rehearsals for Kids: Monday - Thursday, 5:00-8:00pm, November 26 - 29.

6 Performances (kids and teens together): Fri. & Sat., 7:30pm, and Sun., 2:00pm, November 30 - December 9.

Cost: $285 (includes $25 costume fee) + $25 registration fee.
