HANFORD — Doc’s Holiday and Samara will perform at the first Buckle Up For Itzy Fest, which will be held at Hanford’s downtown Civic Park Sept. 2.
The free event, to be held from 1 to 4 p.m., will promote seat belt safety and feature live music, food and information booths, and other activities.
The event will be held on the first anniversary of a tragic car accident which claimed the lives of Itzayana “Itzy” Chaidez and Richard Hernandez. Chaidez’ sister Ivette, who is working to create a nonprofit organization to increase seat belt awareness, is coordinating the event.
Proceeds will go toward event costs and scholarships for high school students pursuing careers in medical fields.
Vendor booths and sponsorships are available, and raffle tickets will be sold at the event. Businesses or organizations interested in participating can contact Ivette Chaidez at 559-530-1256 or ivettechaidez07@gmail.com.
