October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
&
Madera Community Youth Football & Cheer is going Pink!!!
Join us in our 1st Annual “Go Pink” game day
Saturday, Oct. 13th @ Madera South H.S. football field 8am-2pm
We will be collecting donations of any kind in support of A Spoonful of Sugar during all the games!! So Wear your Pink & look for the megaphones!!!
A Spoonful of Sugar is a (501c3) nonprofit created to help the children of breast cancer patients. Through donations, Shannon’s book It’s OK, Mama Has Cancer is given to cancer centers for their disbursement wherever the need is greatest. Shannon O'Brien, stage 4 cancer survivor & founder of A Spoonful of Sugar.
It's OK, Mama Has Cancer is from the perspective of Shannon's daughters, only 8 and 6 at the time. Chronicling their journey to understand Mama’s treatment, it’s a wonderfully inspirational and informative book. Designed to answer questions, provide comfort, and start discussions, It's OK, Mama Has Cancer is an invaluable resource for families dealing with cancer and the Oncology centers and medical professionals who work to treat those diagnosed with this dreaded disease.
