Event Description

America's broken immigration system provides almost no usable avenues for less skilled foreigners to enter the country and work legally, and the programs that exist are cumbersome and unpredictable. The result: many American farmers and other employers are unable to find the reliable labor force they need to sustain their businesses and contribute to the economy. Please join ImmigrationWorks for a half-day conference on designing a better agricultural temporary worker program. What ideas are being discussed in Washington for redesigning or replacing the existing H-2A program? What do farmers need? What would work best for California agriculture? What are the prospects for change and when?

Who should attend:
Growers who rely on foreign workers
Farm labor contractors
Agricultural trade association personnel
Lawmakers from states with farmworker shortages
State agriculture officials
Congressional staffers interested in immigration
