Event Description

July 30, 2010 Updated May 11, 2010 at 2:02 PM PDT

The local Clovis Spanish congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses is building a new place of worship in concert with three English language congregations. Started this weekend and continuing through the next two weekends, they will take the lead in the simultaneous building of two meeting places in Clovis that Jehovah's Witnesses call Kingdom Halls.

This would be just another building project if it was not for the fact that the over 500 hundred, who are working on these
buildings, are all volunteers from English and Spanish congregations of the San Joaquin Valley. They volunteer their time and expertise free of charge to reduce cost, promote brotherhood and strengthen community bonds. One will appreciate the multicultural fellowship as they work to help their 'brothers' in the Clovis area. The Spanish Congregations in this area have witnessed a growth from about 10,000 in 1999 to more than 18,000 today. For this reason the local Clovis Spanish Congregation along with threee English congregations have made arrangements for this special build project. You can follow the progress of the project at 710 N. Sunnyside Ave, Clovis, CA -- just north of HWY 168.
