Activists in Denmark have moved to block the clearing of forest needed to construct a test center for seven giant windmills.

Work to fell more than 650 acres of trees to make room for the test center was supposed to start last week. But so far, protesters have managed to keep the plan from going ahead.

This morning (Thursday), the machines were forced to back off yet again. Police have tried to convince the protesters to leave the area, but with no luck.

The Danish society for nature conservation has filed a complaint with the European Union, saying the test center will be in violation of the e-u directive on protecting animal habitats.
