The Fresno County Health Department has issued an alert about a strain of the swine flu that has killed dozens in Mexico and has sickened 6 people in the San Diego area. Health officials say the flu strain has not been seen before, and unlike earlier types of swine flu, appears to be transmitted from human to human. So far, no cases have been found in the Central Valley, but health officials here say they are on the lookout and are telling people to take normal precautions to avoid getting the flu.
