Experts predict Alzheimer's disease will affect more and more people as the U.S. population ages, but modifying lifestyle could play a role in reducing the risk. A Columbia University study found the Mediterranean Diet -- high in fresh produce, nuts, and fish and low in red meats-- could help prevent the disease.
The study looked at 1,800 New Yorkers and found those who followed the Mediterranean-style diet reduced their Alzheimer's risk by 44%.
