New Life Church is giving drivers an early Easter gift by offering gasoline for $2.99 a gallon at a Connecticut gas station for one hour on Saturday afternoon.

Between 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., drivers who fill up their tanks at Danby’s Gulf Express will pay $2.99 per gallon for regular gasoline.

New Life Church will make up the difference to say “Happy Easter” to the community, according to a news release from the church.

Drivers began lining up for the discounted gas around 11 a.m. Saturday.

Pastor Will Marotti, the senior, founding pastor, of the church said a staff member came up with the idea last year, but it was not feasible economically at the time.
