A 6-year-old Texas boy is defying the odds.
Young Riley Rhoden beat cancer, but lost his entire left arm in the battle. Still, that didn't stop him from ending up a star player on his school baseball team -- the Braves.
"I throw the ball kind of high, flip my glove off, catch it and throw it," Riley told a local news station, explaining the technique he’s now perfected.
When Riley was just two years old doctors discovered a rare malignant tumor on his arm. They said the only way the boy would survive was if they amputated the limb.
"I laid in bed and said, you know, 'God, take me instead. Take my arm. You know, please take me instead. Don't do this to my kid.' It was the most awful thing I think I have ever experienced," said his mother, Rachel Rhoden.
