It turns out, former Fresno Mayor Alan Autry is not running for state senate...
At least, not this year..
Autry tells KSEE 24 news that he's got a couple of movie projects, and a mentoring program that needs his attention for the rest of the year.
But he's not ruling out a run next year...
He says he'll take a more serious look at running for office in 2014...
But a special election for the state's 16th district seat has been scheduled for May 21st...
The district covers portions of Fresno, Kings, Kern, and Tulare counties.
According to the Fresno county elections website... John Estrada, Francisco Ramirez and Andy Vidak have declared their candidacy.
Michael Rubio recently resigned from the 16th district seat citing family reasons.
