Fresno Unified Educator, Donald Rotella, a Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Specialist for Fresno Unified School District for the past 35 years has been awarded a technology grant totaling $1,054.88 from a special donor who has requested to remain anonymous.
Rotella, the 2011/12 Carolyn Dobbs Special Education of the Teacher for the entire San Joaquin Valley, wrote a lengthy grant while vacationing in Pacific Grove during Thanksgiving week. This technology grant includes a top-of-the-line, recently released 4th Generation Apple iPad with Retina Display and Wi-Fi 64 GB along with numerous accessories.
The large grant donation combined with the generous donation from Best Buy in Riverpark will benefit Rotella's Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students who are located at elementary, middle, high schools, and adult schools throughout the Fresno Unified School District. Many teachers throughout the District have expressed how difficult it is to receive this type of technology grant.
