College of the Sequoias administrators are working to save the school after its latest accreditation results.

The accrediting commission for community and junior colleges has ordered COS to show cause in reaffirming its accreditation. It's the most severe sanction that can be issued to a community college.

COS officials say the entire school must come together and work quickly with the community to respond.

The school has until October to show why it should continue as an accredited institution or the college could be shut down.
