The Hanson family is overwhelmed with all of the media attention, but they did want to express their gratitude for all the support.
The Hanson family released a statement today, saying Dianna was living her dream, and died doing what she loved.
The Hanson family remains supportive of project survival cat haven... And believe that Dianna would have been saddened to learn that "Cous Cous" had been shot.
Dianna had a great respect for big cats, and was well aware of the risks associated with her job.
She also believed that educating the public about these cats would help preserve their future.
the victim's sister in law says the family harbors no ill-will towards the Cat Haven, and they trust the safety protocols that were in place.
Tiffany Windle-Hanson, Dianna's Sister-in-Law said, "They had a separate cage that they'd take them to with food. And once they were in that enclosure they would close it and try to lock down the gate so that it would stay over there, and while the cat was eating, they would clean the cages. That's the only thing the interns were allowed to do with those animals. Once they were cleaned up, they would finish their food, pull them, and let them back out. It makes sense how she ended up in there.
Funeral arrangements are currently being made.
The family wishes for anyone who wants to honor Dianna's memory, to support her favorite organizations... Among which, is Project Survival Cat Haven.
The Cat Haven also announced Friday that it will reopen to the public on Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
