(Press Release) Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect vehicle used in a shooting on Saturday in western Fresno County.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m., deputies responded to a shooting at a home in the 3600 block of S. State Avenue, northeast of the City of San Joaquin. The suspects fled as deputies arrived on scene.

Deputies learned that the two victims were shot as they checked on a marijuana grow they were tending. Detectives believe the incident was a botched robbery attempt. They believe that at least three suspects were involved, possibly more.

Both victims were taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment, one by helicopter. One victim was treated for superficial gunshot wounds and released. The other victim received life threatening injuries, is currently on life support, and is not expected to survive.

Witnesses reported seeing the suspects flee in a small vehicle, described as a dark colored, possibly dark green, Honda or Saturn two-door. The vehicle reportedly had a loud exhaust, and a fin or spoiler on the rear trunk area.

The vehicle was last seen driving eastbound on Central Avenue from State at a high rate of speed.

Anyone with information on this vehicle, or any other aspect of this case, are asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 488-3111, or CrimeStoppers at 498-STOP(7867).
