A police officer's heated argument with a co-worker over vacation days took an ugly turn, with the woman allegedly squeezing liquid hand sanitizer into another officer's coffee thermos in an attempt to poison him.

Pinellas County deputy Tamara Morgan has been suspended from the police department in St. Petersburg, Florida after authorities say she inserted the liquid substance into the drink of another officer, who works with Morgan as a bailiff at the county courthouse.

The deputy drank the spiked drink and felt a burning sensation, according to a department memorandum issued on November 19 to publicize the incident.

In the internal communication, the sheriff's office described Morgan's actions as a 'first degree felony and a violation of agency policy.'

The office said the 51-year-old has admitted to placing the substance in her co-worker's drink.

The victim, who has not been identified, declined to press charges against Morgan.
