It looks like the two suspects arrested Thursday didn't know it was a Fresno Sheriff's deputy that was shot.

Thanks to that anonymous caller, 23-year-old Christopher Touchstone and 26-year-old Larry Dean McGlaughlin, work arrested and are looking at felony assault charges.

The DA's office is working with Sheriff's detectives to see if any other charges will be added.

The caller told deputies where they could find McLaughlin, and that he bought a bus ticket to Louisiana after learning the shooting victim was a Fresno Sheriff's deputy.

Detectives located the vehicle and the 22 caliber air rifle used in the shooting.

Sheriff Mims spoke with Deputy Montanez Wednesday.

He said he heard a pop, then felt a sharp pain in his back.

He told her there was a lot of a blood, and that he used his cell phone to call emergency services.

Montanez is seeing a specialist... The pellet lodged in his back came dangerously close to his spine after the shooting.

Sheriff Mims called local bicycle shops and clubs to get warnings and information to riders in case someone was targeting cyclists.

As far as the suspects, Christopher Touchstone has several prior arrests.

Larry Dean McLoughlin has a minimal criminal history, according to Sheriff Mims.

Again the suspects are looking at felony assault charges at the very least

The DA's office officially gets the case Friday.
