(Daily Mail) A Massachusetts fire department dispatcher knew something was wrong Monday night, when a call came in about a bad accident in which the driver was trapped.

55-year-old Sue Goodale immediately texted her only son Noah, concerned that her 'gut feeling' was trying to tell her something all too tragic.

Moments later, the Brockton fire chief walked through the door and confirmed her worst nightmare — she was right.

'I knew it was him,' she told the Boston Herald. 'I don’t know how I knew, but I knew. And he didn’t answer me — that’s when I really knew.'

Mrs Goodale rushed to the scene and met her son's father, Fire Department Captain Thomas Goodale.
