Jared and Jerry Beard entered not guilty pleas. The brothers are accused of shooting and killing Brandon Moore and his friend Justin Hesketh on December 20th. Tuesday security was tight inside the courtroom. The added security comes after a confrontation between family members happened at the first court appearance.
Extra deputies were in and outside of court, plus everyone entering the court were scanned with portable metal detectors.
After the Beard brothers appeared in court their Aunt, Nicole Tucker said, "We feel bad about everything that happened, but Jerry and Jared are not gang members. They were not intentionally trying to do anything to hurt anybody."
Family members of the victim's didn't want to talk after court. Bail for both suspects remains at over $3 million. They will be back in court next month.
