People become teachers for all kinds of reasons. Stacey Broyles has always known, it was what she was destined to do. But not just any kind of teacher.
"Since I was a little kid, talking with my friends, I always knew I wanted to be a Special Ed class teacher. Another friend said she wanted to be a marine biologist, [but] I knew I wanted to be a Special Ed class teacher."
Ms. Broyles teaches at Divisadero Middle School, working with students who have severe learning disabilities, including autism. She's adopted her own style of reaching the kids, including using sign language.
"They don't all learn the same way, so sign language helps reach all of them."
Stacey Broyles has limitless patience and a lot of love for her students. She was always going to be a teacher, and she's a great one, and KSEE 24's Educator of the Week.
