One person is confirmed dead after a four vehicle accident Thursday morning on Highway 43 just north of Cairo Avenue around 5:30. According to the CHP, the driver of a red Mazda crossed over attempting to pass a car and struck another vehicle head on. Highway 43 was closed to all traffic for more than an hour.
