Feed Costs Triple, Fewer Future Farmers at Fair

Rising feed costs are driving farmers, even ag companies, out of the business.

That's the word from the chairman of the senate agricultural committee. Senator Anthony Cannella says feed prices have tripled in the last three years.

Cannella points to the drought in the Midwest combined with unfair mandates at the federal level. An FFA organizer at the Fresno Fair says there are fewer participants this year because of the high cost of feed.

He says when most of the country's corn has to go to ethanol farmers have few options but to take the financial hit.
